Apriltsi is a city in central northern Bulgaria. It is located in Lovech region, near the town of Troyan. It is the administrative center of the municipality Republic.
Situated in a mountainous area in a large valley at the foot of the highest peak of the Balkan Mountains - Mount Botev near Maragidik.
Republic is a city created by the merger of four large villages, currently its neighborhoods: Novo Selo, evil river, visible and Ostrets. The merger became in 1976 the name Republic was chosen in honor of the heroic participation of the region in April uprising. Novoselski convent.
