Baska Voda - community in Croatia in Split-Dalmatia County, a popular resort.
The first mention of Baška Voda belongs to 1688, when on a map «Coranelli» was awarded Baska. It was a small village, whose inhabitants engaged in agriculture and fishing. The name "Baska Voda" is associated with the mythological and Beeston, son of Ares, the Greek god of war, and Calliope, the goddess of water. In ancient times there was a military fort and near a large number of springs. Archaeological excavations indicate that the settlement at this place existed in the days of the Roman Empire.
