Pula is a port city in Croatia on the Adriatic Sea. From the 19th century until the First World War, Pula was the main port of the Austro-Hungarian Navy.
The city is well known for the ruins of ancient Roman buildings. The most famous of them is undoubtedly the amphitheater from the I century, which is among the six largest surviving Roman arenas in the world. The amphitheater is very well preserved and is used today for summer film festivals and outdoor concerts.
