Kavala is the second largest city in northern Greece and is the capital of the prefecture of Kavala. Located on the Bay of Kavala, on the island of Thassos. The first thing you must visit is the medieval fortress situated on a hill in the city. Fortifications of Kavala are very well preserved and visible from a great coastline. The city is organized and one of the largest ethnic festivals - International Festival Cosmopolis. Kavala is famous for its wonderful beaches with crystal clear water.
