Thassos is an island in the northern Aegean Sea, referred to the east Thracian Sea, near the coast of Eastern Macedonia and Western Thrace, at the mouth of the river Mesta. Today the main and largest city is Limei, often referred to as Thassos. The second largest settlement is Limenaria. With an area of 380,1 km², it is the twelfth largest island in Greece.
