Herceg Novi is a city southwest Montenegro, administrative center of the municipality.
Situated on a peninsula between the Gulf of Kotor and the Adriatic Sea. Forms a conurbation with the city of Igalo. The city and region are part of the so-called Old Herzegovina. Founded in 1382, was originally called St. Stephen (which is now the name of another city in Montenegro). Known seaside resort on the Adriatic port.
